Hi there! My name is Mary Fulton. I am 38 years old and married to my high school sweetheart. I am also a mother of three amazing boys who are 4 , 9 years old and 12 years old. We live in sunny Southern California.
In high school, I played volleyball, water polo, and swam on the swim team and always loved to exercise. After high school, I found myself bored at the gym until I stepped into the group exercise studio and took my very first Turbo Kick Boxing class in 1999. It was love at first punch. When I was younger I didn’t give very much thought to nutrition and the things I was putting into my body. Before, I had a metabolism that let me eat whatever I wanted, but that changed the older I got.
When I became a school teacher at 24 years old, I was super stressed, started working really long hours, and stopped working out. Before I knew it, I was about 35 pounds overweight. I was really depressed so I decided to make a change. At that time I found a weight loss program that worked with counting calories (sound familiar?) and I started working out 5 days a week and I lost my 35 pounds. Everyone was asking me how I did it. Now this diet wasn't necessarily a bad one but it didn't pay attention to processed foods and what I was putting into my body.
Fast forward 10 years, I am currently a fitness instructor at 24 Hour Fitness; it is my love and passion to help others achieve their fitness and health goals. I truly love helping people and motivating them in the fitness classes I lead. I even taught during my last pregnancy right up until the last week of my due date. Believe it or not, I was still doing Burpees! After my third baby I wanted to try something new. I heard about clean eating and meal prepping. I wanted to learn how to eat right. In my previous weight loss, I was allowed to have diet sodas, fake sugars and foods that were filled with chemicals. This time I wanted to see what clean eating could do to my body and how it could transform. I joined a group on Facebook and in those 21 days I did not cheat!!! I never knew I was strong enough to avoid sugar. I am a sugar-aholic, so it was crazy to see what determination combined with accountability, planning, clean eating, and workouts could do for me! I reached my goals and had never felt better. I was so excited about the changes I was making in my life that I couldn’t stop talking about it. Once again, people wanted to know all about what I was doing. It finally hit me! Becoming a Trainer and Coach would give me the platform to do exactly what I have been trying to do for 5 plus years: help people get healthy, achieve their goals, and change their lives forever!
So here I am, A stay-at-home mom / fitness instructor — turned health and fitness coach — who is willing to do anything to help you reach your health goals. I love seeing the results people achieve and hearing how I am helping improve their lives. I am so passionate about this “job” of mine and love nothing more than seeing people change their own lives for the better. So join me and I will provide you with all of the tools you will need to succeed, helping you every step of the way!
