We are all super busy and only have 24 hours in one day. Here are 5 quick time saving tips to help you have time for the things that are the most important to you.
1. Cut and wash fruit and veggies and have them ready to go.
2. Set a timer on your phone to limit your media, emails, and phone time. That way you don't lose time on meaningless things.
3. Make a quick check list on the top three things that need to be done.
4. Map out your to do list. This way you save time driving, gas, and time.
5. Double up your meals. When your cooking make enough for left overs for lunch over to freeze for the next meal.
Enjoy your day and make the most of it.
The other night I was feeling discouraged and overwhelmed. I currently have three jobs my three kids and my hubby. Some days I get everything done and feel so accomplished while other days I feel like I'm failing in everything I do. Have you ever felt overwhelmed and discouraged seeing no end in site? That night a movie called "Faith Like Potatoes" was on. I needed to go to bed but I kept being drawn to watch it. This movie was a true story about a man who was a farmer and moved from Scotland to Africa with his family. I added a link at the bottom if you are interested. In a quick summary this man was all about his work and lost site of all the important things and his calling in life. He had a spiritual awakening and his whole life changed. At the end of the movie he challenged everyone to have faith and Plant Potatoes. At the time in Africa there was a drought and potatoes need tons of water. HE prayed over his land everyday and had faith that God would answer but no rain came. Finally the day of harvest came and all the land was dry but Angus still had faith that God would provide. Well when potatoes grow they grow underground so you don't know what is happening because you can't see it. Guess what happened when they dug in the ground? There were thousands and thousands of potatoes. God had provided the potatoes with no rain. What I learned about this story is FAITH like potatoes. In life we toil and we work hard. We may not see the harvest that is happening but we are laying all the foundations for the harvest. So my encouragement for you today is to have Faith. You may not see all the great things that are happening but those potatoes are growing and when its time for Harvest you will reap a great harvest!!!
Have Blessed Wednesday

So let's talk about our mindset for this month. With September come lots of changes with kids going back to school, new schedules, new sports, new activities, and a new season upon us. This is the Perfect time to say September is the NEW January. Many of us think wait till January to start new habits or make changes when really everyday can be a new fresh start to our lives. Every day is a gift from God so we should enjoy it and dive into new healthy habits. I'm not just talking about jumping into the gym and get on the latest fad diet. I'm talking about making some REAL changes that begin with our mindset. Here are 7 quick tips to get you thinking today about where you are in your mindset and help you to start making some changes.
1. Accept that your thinking needs adjusting
Look at how you approach goals and habits in your life. What areas have you succeeded and failed and how did you approach these struggles and victories.
2. Identify your counter-mindsets
Pay attention to what you say to yourself on a daily basis. Example listening to those voices that tell you "You cant do it. " "You'll never get there." "That's for someone else not me."
3. Flip the switch
When you hear those negative thoughts about yourself flip the switch. "My thighs are so big." Switch it to "My legs are so strong they help me lift heavy weights and go through my day."
4. Understand your “why”
Really identify your why. Your WHY is what gets you through. If it's not big enough you wont accomplish that goal.
Example: I want to lose this weight so I wont have to be on my diabetic medication.
5. Realize that motivation and willpower are not enough
It's about recognizing that achieving your goals isn’t about white-knuckling your way to success. When we accept this fact, we can stop mentally punishing ourselves for stumbling or failing to stick to our plan–which will leave us emotionally freer to optimistically try again tomorrow!
6. Start small so you can finish big
Pick one thing you are working on the top one on your list and set small goals that are achievable so you can be successful. Example: Instead of saying I will not eat any sugar or carbs for the next 60 days. How about I will plan out my meals and incorporate healthier foods to my diet and try to avoid high sugary and fatty foods.
Get comfortable with Failure.
We all fail. Over and over again. Know that you will fail and decide what you will do with it. Its how we learn. When you first ride a bike you fall until you keep practicing and get better. Same thing goes here for new habits. We are flawed humans yet we want perfection. Focus on all your victories that you are having along the way and be patient because results don't happen over night they take a long time.
Start with your mindset this September and share with me where you are on your journey. I hope this Blog helps you get started on creating a healthier mindset and lifestyle.
